Meet the dogs
Dakota, Caleb, Ember and Lily's Web Page
We are so blessed to have four beautiful dogs. They are the best dogs anyone could ask for.
While they are all very social, sweet and loving, they have totally different personalities.
Dakota is the oldest of the three at 5 years old and is 4 months older than Caleb. She has a medium/hard temperament and has been the hardest to train. She has a mind of her own, you cannot give her an inch or she will take a mile. She is very bull-headed and stubborn. She is the most intelligent of the three. She loves a good challenge and does not quit until she figures it out. She is very rough and tough for a female and constantly challenges Caleb for the Alpha role. She has an extremely high pain tolerance. Thunderstorms and gunshot bother her. She is a very sweet girl and just loves people to pieces.
Caleb has a medium/soft temperament and has been very easy to train. He minds the best of the three and therefore gets a lot more privileges because of this. He is very protective of me. He does not allow too many people near me unless I tell him it is ok. He will not take food from anyone but my husband and I. He is very loyal. He does not seem to get upset about anything. He is very even tempered. As a pup he was the one that was afraid of everything, but he has matured into a very confident male. He is always by my side no matter where I am.
Ember, the youngest of the pack, has a very soft temperament and is very sensative to correction and training. A very gentle hand must be used when working with her. She minds well but it takes a lot more time to train her because of her soft nature. She gets bored very easily. She is very feminine. She has absolutely no pain tolerance and is quite a baby if she gets hurt. She is the most sensitive of the three. She absolutely loves all people and all dogs. She is afraid of thunderstorms and gunshot. Ember thinks that everyone that comes to visit is there to see her. She is quite the social butterfly.
Lily, the tiniest at 6lbs and the newest member of the pack, is a little comedian. She is a very lovable little girl and not yappy like most small dogs. She does not know that she is little and runs with the big dogs as if she is their size, she thinks she is a GSD too. It is comical to watch her interact with the big guys.
All four are quite social with people and other dogs. We go a lot of places together, sometimes as a group, and sometimes invidually. They all enjoy going for car rides, especially when it is the 3 hr ride to the cabin in Pennsylvania. They just love it there.
