White Oak

My husband and I live on 2 beautifully treed acres in Clinton Ohio with our three dogs. Clinton is a quiet bedroom community south of Akron and is quite rural.

We have a huge 200 year old White Oak in our front yard, hence the name White Oak.  It is truly magnificent and you have to see it to believe it.  I had a State forestor representive out to inspect the tree several years ago.  He measured and inspected the tree and deemed it the 9th largest White Oak in the State of Ohio.  We are quite proud of that.   The property is so peaceful.  Our little piece of heaven.

Several years ago we built our house with our dogs in mind.  They have their own heated and air-conditioned room.  The kitchen was designed with a special place to house their food and treats, the mud room allows for muddy feet to enter and get cleaned off before entering the house, and the laundry room attaches to the mud room for dirty towels.  An electric fence surrounds the entire property so that they can have free run of the property.  They have lots of room to roam and romp. The dogs enjoy themselves immensely.  The property is on a hill and they just love to sit up on the hill and watch all the goings on in the neighborhood.

Our land butts up to a 10 acre horsefarm in the rear.  Our neighbors are very kind and allow us to take the dogs back there for their walks where they get to run off leash and enjoy all of the wonderful smells of the woods, animals, etc.    After a long hard day at work, it is so nice to be able to come home and get lost in the woods with my three dogs.  We all enjoy it a lot and look forward to the end of the day together.

We also own a cabin in the Allegheny National Forest in Tionesta, PA.  We head back there quite often for some r and r from life.  We all absolutely enjoy the peace and quiet of the cabin and it is such a treat when we head over there for long weekends.  The dogs know the drill and when we start packing up to go, they get quite excited.
